8 months

Sister has been flying through milestones in record timing. She actually sat up later than the boys at almost 7 months. My favorite stage is when babies just sit up and you can put toys in front of them. I was really excited that it took her a little later thinking that it was going to buy me another month before she started crawling.

Seriously, within weeks of sitting up, this girl was so bored with sitting. She wanted to MOVE! The boys didn't crawl until 9 or 9.5 months but she was crawling by 7.5! AGH! So that means no more shoes on the floor, plants being knocked over with soil spilled everywhere, and baby proofing like crazy. Landry SO did not let me enjoy the "sitting" stage.

But her excitement about crawling is just too cute. We have two bottom teeth that came in at 5 months but now all four of her top teeth are popping through. Most days, she doesn't complain about them, but some days they get the best of her and EVERYTHING goes in her mouth right now. And that's not good for a germaphobe mom.

These monthly pictures just got a WHOLE lot harder to take. I swear she almost fell off the chair about 10 times because she NEVER sits still! Looks like our next set of monthly pictures will be a two person job.

We've got days left of school and I'm counting down my days to spend with the kids, although I already know sanity breaks will definitely be needed! Hello, VBS, don't mind if I do! But having time to love on my love muffin makes me even more excited about this summer.

6 months

Look who just turned half a year old in March.

In just 6 short months she's gone from this 7 lbs. 15 oz. Polly Pocket....

to this super chunky, rolls on the legs and wrists, solid girl.

Landry reminds me of rings on a tree...a ring for every year. She has the same idea but just grows rolls for every month of age. Don't be fooled. She looks 10 months old, but is only 6.

Seeing these images makes me just want to cry seeing how quickly she's changing.

Big milestones since our last monthly pictures....TEETH! Two of them popped through right at 5 months. She sits really well supported but isn't quite 100% just yet all on her own but we'll be there any day, I can just feel it.

And food...Sister loves her some good grub. Although her first attempts at food look like it was complete torture.

I swear she loves it. She opens her mouth so wide like a little bird.

6 month stats:

Weight: 18 lbs. 12 oz. (90th percentile) and we're still nursing! It's the longest I've made it with any of my kids!
Height: 27.25" (90th percentile)
Head: 42 cm (60th percentile)

So we're not surprised that our sweet precious little girl is above average in all areas. Seeing her little personality come out just melts my heart. She still wins easiest baby award of all my children so far, but I hear from others that I'll get payback during those teenage drama years.

Four months

Yes, I said four months as in a THIRD of a year. I can't even believe it.

How is it that when I was pregnant time stood completely still and every minute seemed like eternity, but now that she's here with her crystal clear blue eyes and her porcelain skin, that I lose all track of time when I'm with her.

I could kiss that neck all day long...if I can actually find it somewhere in there. I promise she has one. We play hide and seek with it all the time. And don't act like you don't notice those thunder thigh rolls...go ahead, look at them. You know you want to squish her.

So now my newborn is officially NOT a....well, I don't really want to talk about it.

4 month stats:

Weight: 16 lbs. 3 oz (88th percentile)
Height: 26.75" (95th percentile)
Head: 42 cm (50th percentile)

And certain Missy just discovered she can roll with the best of them. Her big brothers better watch out....I see steamrollin' coming to our house in the near future.

2 months

As you can see I'm a little late on posting her monthly pictures. I'll blame it on the sleep deprivation. I wonder how long I can use that excuse?!?

Today was Landry's 2 month checkup. At birth, she weighed 7 lbs. 15 oz. (soooo close to that 8 lb mark) and was 19.25 in. She dipped down to 7 lbs and developed jaundice a week later...darn milk not coming in for five days.

*Random side note...just two days ago we noticed that all of our children were the exact same length at birth. Guess that my uterus only allows for 19.25" babies.

2 month stats:

Weight: 12 lbs. 4 oz. (90th percentile)
Height: 22.25" (75th percentile)
Head: 40.5 cm (90th percentile)

Everyone comments about how petite she is and that their babies were never that small but I beg to differ. I'm the one who sees her rolls unfold with every diaper change and these pictures show just how much she's changed in just two months!

I'm really proud of how much she's grown considering that we've been through jaundice when she was 1 week and that horrible case of mastitis at 5 weeks all of which really made me want to quit breastfeeding because it was so hard.

I go back to work in 3.5 weeks and the punch in the gut gets more noticeable every day that it gets closer. We'll see how long I last nursing. With the boys, once I went to work and started pumping, my supply slowly diminished.

I'm so thankful for everyday that I have home with her and wish that I could spend more with her. I'm thankful that I go back to work for two weeks then get another two weeks off for Christmas break and only another 6 months before I'm off again for 10 weeks.

It's not the same as staying home with her every day but it sure is a lot better than going back with no breaks at all.

I'm cherishing every single second.
