I know I complain. But this is what makes it all worth it. Every.single.second.

First things first

This pretty much sums up the beginning of my summer so far. So much for my to-do list I had already started. This one takes precedence over all of them. Wow. I didn't realize how much kids could actually fight over ALL.DAY.LONG! It might be a loooooooooong summer, people.

My boys are so used to being go-go-go on the weekends, that this morning when I woke up and had nothing to do but piddle around the house, Nolan kept saying, "Where are we going today?" and Campbell said, "Go bye-bye mama?" I'm either going to be exhausted from running them around (talk about mad mom in a minivan) or I've got to come up with some good activities at home to keep them occupied. The good thing about being on-the-go...there's not as much fighting! I might be moving into my van this summer.

Bath buddies

We've retired the baby tub and the boys are taking baths together now. What a mess! Campbell is going to be a fish this summer at the pool! He was going crazy in the tub just splashing Nolan like he was doing it on purpose. We have to watch him really closely he starts standing up in the tub and he puts his head under the water. Scares me to death but so cute to just see water bead up on his long eyelashes. Nolan thinks it's party time with Bubba in there especially after all these years of solo baths. I have a feeling it's only going to get messier!

Jammies

I don't know what it is about my kids in pajamas that makes me just want to snuggle them. The worst ones are those sleepers with the feet in them. Campbell better just be ready for some loving when he has on one of those. I couldn't help but get the boys a pair of matching pajamas. In fact, I've been a little guilty of coordinating a lot of their outfits for this summer. I don't know what I would do if I had twins! They'll probably hate me for it when they get older but for now, I have the say! Or as Nolan says, "Mommies and daddies are the bosses." Like I said, smart kid.

Brotha from the same motha

We came across some old photos of Justin and his older brother Casey. I just love these pictures of them growing up in Kentucky. Nolan and Campbell are the same exact age difference as Justin and Casey. Justin was really excited when we found out Campbell was a boy. He was so hopeful that the boys get to experience having a brother so close in age and playing and growing up together like he did. I can't wait to have these same precious moments with my boys.

Brotherly love

I must say that it's been great having two boys so close in age. I might regret saying those words in about two years, but for now they really seem to like each other. Campbell just cracks up at Nolan all the time and Nolan just loves to hear him giggle so he'll tickle him. In fact, it's almost impossible to give Campbell a bottle with Nolan in the room because he's way more interested in him than taking his bottle. Nolan has taken his big brother role to heart and talks about all the things he's going to teach Campbell. He said he's going to teach him how to whistle and to ride a bike. I think he'll teach him right after HE actually learns how to do those things himself! I just love how he'll hear Campbell fussing and say that he's going to go check on him and is constantly on paci patrol. Sometimes, he even gives parenting pointers and tells me that Campbell wants to sit in my lap or hold me. Sometimes, he's actually right!

Nolan supervising bath time. It's just a matter of time before they're sharing bath time and there's more water on the floor than in the tub.
The boys playing with Daddy
This picture makes me laugh and cry at the same time. I just love how Nolan wants to play with Cam so bad but get so sad to see how big Nolan is and that play gym used to be his!
