LMNOP

There is not a better sound created on Earth better than a child's laugh or hearing them sing. You can't help but smile. And there's definitely nothing as cute as hearing a toddler choke on the letters L-M-N-O-P in the alphabet song.

Take me out to the ballgame sing along

One night in the midst of rocking to Campbell to sleep one night, I decided to spice things up from our normal run-of-the-mill songs and I sang "Take me out to the ballgame." And, that's when the obsession started and Campbell ever since requests "SOCCER BALL!!!!" every night a million times before bedtime.

He then started to sing with me and it's just about the cutest thing hearing a toddler sing. My favorite part is that he's making key changes. He's like his mama, it might not be the right key but at least he's trying! I

Young McDonalds had a farm

The boys had a Spring Fling at their school that was during the day and had to dress up like farmers. I know that we're "Old McDonalds" but we're fresh out of farmer outfits in this house. So we did the best we could with piecing our hodgepodge outfits together. I think they both we're more on the Woody from Toy Story theme rather than farmers, but they were good sports. Don't tell Nolan that he had on his cousin, Avery's boots. Shhhh, he didn't seem to care they were girl boots. Campbell's class "sang" Old McDonald had a Farm. When I say sing, what I really mean is they were on stage staring at us while all the parents sang. It was actually pretty funny. I'm not sure who was really performing. We love and Campbell loves his teacher, Mrs. Laura. As you can see, he couldn't care less that we were there and held a tight rein on her the whole time.

Nolan completely redeemed himself from the Christmas pageant performance. He sang two songs and was singing very loudly, but I couldn't have been more proud of him for not being shy and being such a performer.

When we got home I couldn't resist taking more photos of him in his outfit. These are some of my new favorites. He, of course, wants to wear this outfit everyday now and his newest "when I grow up" ambition is to be a cowboy and help people. Yee Haw!

Baby Mine

Ok, I got it on video! I finally got Nolan singing his favorite song Baby Mine. How precious is he when he sings "you're so precious to me, sweet as can be?" Oh, I just want to video every minute of this stage. I know it's only a matter of time before he's too cool to have me sing to him at night or kiss him in front of his friends. That is the day I'll cry! I don't care what he says, I WILL kiss him and hug him - I don't care how much I embarrass him! The link kept messing up when I posted it on the blog so here it is on YouTube.

Don't forget the Lyrics

I would be a pretty bad contestant on this TV show...especially if it came to nursery rhymes. I'm terrible! I know like every other word or replace words with incorrect ones...it's quite humorous. One day when my best friend Angi and her husband were over I was telling them this exact story. Later that night, Nolan was singing a song and I started singing with him "Where is Bumpkin" instead of "Where is Thumpkin"...case in point.

Last night, I had single parent duty and was putting Nolan to bed. He loves Dumbo right now and loves a really sweet song that Bette Midler sings called "Baby Mine". Justin knows every word and sings it to him every night. So he asked me to sing it since Dad was at a church meeting. I tried to tell him it's going to be bad because I don't know the words. He convinces me that I know it. My kids are the only people that I feel comfortable enough to sing around...I know they don't mind my tone deafness. So I sing the first line and hum the next line and switch off and on between humming and words. I think he felt sorry for me.

Nolan: Don't worry mommy you will learn it when you grow up and get bigger.

Me: Oh yeah, well how do I get bigger?

Nolan: You eat broccoli

Me: (laughing hysterically)

I guess that's better than another time when I sang it and he said "No mommy, go get Daddy."
